Five Mistakes That Weaken a Student Visa File

Published 15 July 2026

A visa officer reads your file as one story. Anything that does not fit that story — an unexplained bank deposit, a mismatched name spelling, a course unrelated to your background — raises a question you are not there to answer.

First, keep names identical across passport, certificates and bank documents. Second, show a funding history, not a sudden balance. Third, be able to explain your course choice in one clear sentence.

Fourth, do not submit documents you cannot verify. Fifth, prepare for the interview out loud; a confident, consistent answer does more than an extra certificate.

Our counselling desk reviews each file against these points before submission, and runs a mock interview so nothing is heard for the first time at the embassy.
